Where can I have my skip dropped?
Skips can be dropped on a private property such as your drive or on the road outside your house. Skips can also be dropped at business, offices or factories. For contractors and builders, we also offer waste disposal services for customer locations.
Do I need permission from the council to place a skip on the road?
Yes. you will need to obtain a permit from your local Council. They will charge a small fee for the skip to be placed on the road. We would be happy to arrange a skip permit for you. However, in some cases, you may have to apply for a permit yourself depending on the borough and its requirements.
What is the average size of a skip?
Average skips range between 6 to 8 cubic yards. For big refurbishment work or for construction work we also supply roll on-off bins.
What if I cannot get a skip license?
For skip permit problems, we offer a wait and load service, where the driver will wait while you load the skip. Please contact us for further information.
Is there anything that I cannot put in a skip?
In accordance with environmental legislation, fridge freezers, asbestos and tyres are not permitted to be placed in a skip. However, if you do require a fridge or freezer collection, we will be happy to arrange a dedicated vehicle to dispose of these for you. Please check our Conditions of Hire
Are there any skip loading requirements?
Skips must be level-loaded at all times to ensure safety and that rubbish remains contained whilst in transit. Please check our Conditions of Hire
How long can I keep a skip?
The price is the same whether you have the skip for one day or seven days, until the skip is either full or you require a collection or an exchange. This can be extended at your request.
How do I book a skip?
You can call us at 01262 672591 to arrange deliveries, collections and exchanges of skips.
How much notice do I need to give?
24 hour notice is usually required for deliveries, collections and exchanges. However, if you call us before 9:00 am, we can offer same day service for local areas. We can guarantee a next day service for either the morning or afternoon. For people who have a tight schedule, we will do our utmost to work around your requirements.
What happens with my waste after it is taken away in a skip?
Skips are taken back to our fully licensed waste transfer station where we aim to recycle 100% of all waste to ensure that the minimum amount of rubbish goes to landfill.
Will I have space?
If you can fit a car on your driveway then a skip should fit on there also. The average skip is about the size of a small car with no roof.
For soil and clay the biggest size would be an 8yard as the bigger sizes would not be able to cope with weight resulting in the vehicle potentially being over weight.
We cannot accept responsibility for any damage caused if our vehicle is directed off the public highway.
We do not accept fridges TVs monitors’ paints solvents liquids car/ commercial vehicle batteries, asbestos, car/ commercial tyres.
How do I pay?
We accept all major credit cards with the exception of Amex. Payment is taken prior to delivery.
